Mansfield Mehock Relays Fact SheetThe MeetThe Mansfield Mehock Relays is one of the largest interscholastic relay events in the world. The Mehock Relays have been an early season "proving ground" for scholastic track stars of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Canada. Location of RelaysThe relays are in Mansfield, OH, at 205 W. Cook Rd. Eligibility/SanctionsIn all interstate contests, each participating school shall follow the rules of the state association of which it is a member or rules which have been approved by that state association for interstate competition. No school may violate its own state association rules. www.nfhs.org/sanctioning.htm. All athletes participating in the meet must be certified eligible by their high school principals. Eligibility list of birth dates must accompany entry forms. Athletes who are 19 years old before August 1, 2007 are not eligible. To compete in the Mehock Relays, all schools must observe the Ohio High School Athletic Association rules of competition. The DateApril 18-19, 2008 2008 Event Schedule To view 2008 schedule click here. A full girls format has been added to Friday's schedule. The boys Friday and Saturday schedule will remain unchanged. All races will conclude at the common finish line of the south straightaway. Shuttle hurdle relay will be contested at the 36" height. The FacilityThe all-weather track is composed of a newly resurfaced latex. it has ten, 42-inch lanes all around the track. there are also two vaulting, high jump and long jump areas. The shot put and discus pads have a rough cement surface and long jump pits have white sand. LodgingDue to lack of host families, the Relays can no longer offer complimentary housing to athletes on Friday night. Click on the About Mansfield, Ohio for local accomodations. Cost$6 per athlete. Payable with entry. AwardsTrophies, medals, and individual awards are donated to the many winners of the Relays for them to keep as momentos of their participation.
